The water must be at least 130° for dishwashers to work effectively. This is documented by the

Gamble.
Dishwashers tip:
Get cleaner dishes from
your dishwasher with a Chilipepper appliance!
The single most important factor in getting good results
from dishwashers is HOT WATER!!
The water must be at least 130° for dishwashers to work effectively. This is documented by the
major manufacturers of dishwasher detergents, such as Proctor &
Gamble. If the water in the dishwasher isn't hot
enough, it won't completely dissolve the dishwashing detergent.
Dishwasher Tip:
You can determine the cause of cloudy glassware by soaking a glass in
vinegar for 5 minutes. If the cloudiness is removed it is due to hard
water deposits; make sure the salt reservoir is topped up. Do not worry
about over-filling it.
If the cloudiness is not removed, it is a permanent condition known
as etching. In this situation, use less detergent and stop pre-washing.
Dishwashing detergent needs a bit of soil to work on, otherwise it will
tend to foam up.
The Big Dishwasher Tip:
Install a Chilipepper kitchen
appliance under your kitchen sink and just before you start your
dishwasher push the start button for the Chilipepper and it will speed
hot water to the dishwasher improving your dishwasher's
performance.

The dishwasher was invented by a woman named Josephine Garis Cochrane. She received an award for her invention at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. The company she founded to market the dishwasher to hotels, restaurants and other commercial groups was purchased in the 1920's by the Hobart Corporation. They introduced the
"KitchenAid" brand dishwasher. |
