X10 Home Automation Modules Provide Convenient Remote Control for the Chilipepper
Hot Water Demand System

Using remote control to operate your Chilipepper requires two X10 modules for through-the-house-wiring control and three X10 modules for wireless control.

In order to control the Chilipepper with X10 products you must convert the Chilipepper over to work with a switched outlet.

Plug-in modules are switches you plug into any outlet and the switch signal will travel through the house wiring and activate the UM506.

For wireless operation you still need the UM506 to provide the momentary contact closure, and you need a TM751 transceiver that receives wireless signals and puts them into the house wiring to activate the UM506, and, you need the wireless transmitter switch.

Wireless switches will not operate the UM506 directly, you need all three modules; the UM506, the TM751, and a wireless switch as shown below.

There are also units that replace your existing 110V outlets and switches. These must be wired in and look just like ordinary outlets and switches.

Works with tank type and tankless water heaters

The Chilipepper has a powerful motor and pumps enough water to work with any tankless water heater on the market as well as all tank type heaters.  Tankless water heaters require more time to get you your hot water, so you end up running more water down the drain while you wait.
