Using X10 Remote Switches (Buttons) to Control Your Hot Water Demand System
Plug-in switches are not wireless switches, they
send their signals through the house wiring and must be plugged into an outlet
to access the house wiring.
Note: The UM506 remote receiver
is no longer available. Instead we recommend using a switched outlet type
control. For details visit the switched
outlet page.
How to do it - Plug-in Controllers
Connect the control wires from the Chilipepper to the two screw terminals on
a UM506 receiver, and plug the receiver into a 110 volt outlet.
Set the UM506 settings to "momentary" and "relay only". Set the house
code and unit code to match your controller settings.
Plug in your controller. To start the Chilipepper press the button with
the unit code you used for setting the UM506 and controller.

Plug the TM751 into any outlet and set the house code and unit code to match
the settings on the UM506.
To start the Chilipepper press the appropriate button on your particular
choice for a wireless remote.

The PHC01 (MC460) is another plug-in controller. The picture does not
show it, but the controller comes with a six foot cord.
You can also use the Mini-Controller to send signals to all of the X10 modules
etc.
It’s the ideal controller for bedside tables, kitchen, baths and laundry room.

This tiny Keychain Remote control has 4 buttons that controls X10 addresses 1
and 2 or 5 and 6 on any of the 16 house codes. The bottom 2 buttons control the
dim and bright of the last unit turned on.
This device requires an RF receiver such as a TM751 to transmit X10 signals
wirelessly to other X10 control modules.

connected to any X10 Lamp or Appliance Module -- or triggers ActiveHome macros.,
and of course, you can use it to activate your hot water demand system from up
